Last week, I visited Peckham Craft Show. I first discovered the show the previous year and eagerly followed along, and found a lot of the makers on Instagram. I had arranged to visit one of my best friends In London, and realised the dates worked, so we squeezed in a visit first thing last Saturday. The show represents many of my favourite techniques, crafts and makers, and it was a veritable feast of ceramics, textiles and paper. I was in heaven! I harbour my own secret itch to make tactile work with my hands, and this show really ignited that wish! The space itself is beautiful and light, and I loved the way the exhibits had been curated. There was an emphasis on still life, with satisfyingly styled tableaux’s and collections. There was also a heavy natural influence in the curation too- inspiration from Peckham’s history as an orchard. Here are some of my favourites in the show.

The flowers were by Wallflower Peckham, and I really loved the shapes used and the use of moss and soil. I was looking forward to seeing Christabel Balfours work in the flesh- I love her weaving. I loved the hanging ceramics, and pretty much all of the pieces on the large tables, especially the swimmers urn and the black ceramics.

Lydia Morrow’s piece was so intricate and detailed in real life; a treat to be able to study it closely. I fell in love with AE And studio - they made the black and white paper pieces in the photo above and the shape pillows below. But I honestly loved pretty much all of it. Bravo to organisers Chloe and Rachel!

I have credited the main makers in each photo below, however if there is something that isn’t credited, please contact Rachel and Chloe on peckhamcraftweekend@gmail.com

Ok, on to the photo’s! I took so many it was difficult to choose.

There were many other makers there, this really is just a selection. If you also like hand crafted ceramics, prints, paper works and flowers, then I highly recommend coming next year if you can.
