Hello! Here is my monthly list of wonderful things to make, do and celebrate in the wonderful month of June, albeit a week later than usual. Last week I was busy working at The Nature Sessions retreat (more on that below) so this months Sunday Supplement finds you a little late but I hope it finds you in good spirits, nevertheless!

June marks the midpoint of the year (wwwhhhaaaatttttt!) There are more hours of light than dark, and the sun is as close as it's going to get. In nature it's a time of intensity, flourishing, light and fire, and all of this affects us humans too.

I am gearing up to do my own mid year review, using my Life Book process (link to a freebie below) this month and am really looking forward to taking myself odd to a cafe and making some time to read through my goals, review and plan. I’m also making time for some spaciousness and rest this month too.

10 Wonderful Things to Make, Do and Celebrate in June!

  1. Take stock of your year at this annual mid point and time of intensity and growth. Look at the goals you made in January (with kindness) and make any necessary tweaks and changes. Read my free guide on how to review a goal here.

  2. Do some reflecting and/or journalling around the themes of the Solstice. Is your most intense focus and energy being given to the right things? Which areas of your life have been building up or growing? Take a moment to pat yourself on the back for all the work you've done this year- personal or professional. Take time to appreciate all the growth and bounty in your life.

  3. Make time for rest, too. yes June is a bustling, wild, abundant month but it can also be tiring! Make time to just relax in this month too. I am heavily focussing on daily moments of relaxation and calm at the moment, and the sun sure does help.

  4. Celebrate the Summer Solstice. This years Summer Solstice is on Friday 21st June, an ancient celebration of the longest day of the year; a festival of fire, and a grand celebration of the land warmed by the sun and the bounty to come. Mark it in a small or big way; and light a fire somewhere is you can!

  5. Make something for Fathers Day. It's next Sunday 16th June. If you'r wavering about gifts, opt for an experience or an edible treat instead of a potentially unloved 'thing'.

  6. My local town is gearing up for it's brilliant open garden event and market(on 30th June is any local ish folk fancy it, or London folk fancy a day trip). There is a postcode searchable list here so you can see if there is one near you.

  7. Plan ahead for summer. If you have kids and need childcare, get it sorted asap- things book up quick! Or investigate cool activities or experiences you can do together.

  8. June means strawberries and elderflower (in my book anyway). Find a Pick Your Own near you and seek out locally grown. Forage for Elderflower to make cordial.

  9. Store winter woollens and heavy coats. Gently wash (moths feed off bacteria) and dry (normally flat- in the sun is lovely!) all your woolly jumpers, hats, socks and coats ready for next year. Pop a few pieces of paper dropped with lavender essential oil in between the layers to keep the moths away. Donate or chuck away any winter clothes you wouldn't be excited about seeing next winter.

  10. Fill your house with nature! June is an incredibly abundant month for flowers branches, shells and seaweed etc etc- bring some of the glorious colours and textures of June into your home.
